POW Project aims to inspire the use of positive words and attitudes in conversations between professionals and families of children with SEND.
 
Language used when speaking to SEND children, young people and their families is incredibly powerful.
 
Although discussions may be with the best of intentions sometimes gestures and conversations can unfortunately be unhelpful, miss the mark or even worse, be offensive and hurtful.
 
Examples include:
